     The Great Blue Heron stands up to 4 feet tall.  Its wingspan is 6 feet and the back of its wings are blue-grey.  The Great Blue Heron is from the heron family.  They are found near wetlands and open water in North America and Central America.

     The Great Blue Heron also lives in the Caribbean and the Galapagos Islands. The Blue Heron migration in the Summer Range: Great Blue Herons breed across most of North America south of southern Canada to the Gulf states, Central America and the Caribbean. Winter Range: Great Blue Herons migrate singly or in small flocks, mainly in daytime. The oldest ever known is 23 years of life for a Great Blue Heron.  

      Their prey are much larger than them like eagles, alligators, or crocodiles.  Great Blue Herons eat nearly anything within striking distance, including fish, amphibians, reptiles, small mammals, insects, and other birds.
